It’s June in the US, and that means a lot of folks are celebraing Pride Month! That’s right, it’s time for all the lovely LGBTQIA+ folks to take a bow at center stage. And before anyone pipes up with ‘what about straight pride?’ as if that’s a huge gotcha, sit your ass down and enjoy the other 11 months of the year. Whore School is adult sex education and it turns out that if straight folks sex ed is a shit-show, sex ed for not straight folks is fucking worse. Let’s talk about the Pride Parade and how to act in public for both allies and members of a marginalized community!
Pride Parade!
Any time a group of folks get together to dance in the street and have a good time, we call that a parade. You may wonder a bit about why we’d have a Pride Parade, specifically. Tune in on Sunday June 21, 2026 at 11 pm for the live discussion about exactly why it’s a Pride Parade. In short: when a community has been villified, maligned, and mistreated for centuries, blamed for natural disasters, and legislated out of public life, told they’re shameful, should be guilty, and filled with fear over simply existing, to walk in pride is an act of defiance and repudiation. In short: the LGBTQIA+ community has been told to be ashamed, and the opposite of shame is PRIDE.
LGBTQIA+ Welcome
Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Trans folx, Queers and Questioning, Intersex people, Asexual and Aromantic people, and MORE are all welcome to Whore School and the Enchantrix Empire. Your host, me, Ms Harper, is bisexual, aromantic, and genderqueer. That means, in the strictest definition of the words that I’m trans, too. Yes, sometimes I wish I had a dick! I do still like my pussy though, so, ideally I’d have both, or be able to swap between them. Welcome to the dilemma of the genderfluid. Also, ‘bisexual’ may not be technically correct, either. It’s not ‘both’ genders, it’s ALL genders! Maybe I’m pansexual, rather than bisexual. Anyway, semantics, it’s fun.
Allies At Pride
Everyone needs a good ally in their corner, and the queer community is no different! Allies are welcome at Pride Events! You can even twist the acronym around and make the ‘A’ stand for ‘ally’ as well as Asexual and Aromantic. There’s room for letters to mean more than one thing at a time. However, if you try to make the ‘A’ stand for only ally, and NOT Asexual and Aromantic, we’re gonna fight. As an Aromantic person myself, I will stand ten toes down on representation. You’re welcome to stand with the queer folks, but unless you’re claiming a letter as a queer person, you ain’t one of the fam. Also, allies to the front: you take less damage from the people who want to eliminate us from public life, so, time to be the tank and soak damage. (Need a translation from all that modern jargon?
