If you’ve listened to past Whore School episodes, you know that gender and sex are two different things. Heck, if you’ve learned anything from the world of science, biology, gender studies, and human behavior, you know that what’s in your pants and what’s in your genes, and the way you behave in the world, are all different, yet interrelated, things. Sissies bring the complexity to everything, though, so we’re going to talk about it on November 30, 2025 at 11 pm Eastern. You’re welcome.

Gender

Don't be afraid to explore your gender with me. Harper whoreschool.net 800 901 7259Not to delve too deeply into a Master’s Thesis on Gender Studies, gender is closely aligned to personal identity. Who you are can be different from what you are, in brief. Your body doesn’t neccessarily have to align perfectly with your culture’s Platonic Ideal for what your gender is. To put it another way, things in our lives that are behavioral, that are the actions we take in the world, often tend to be culturally coded for gender. The way you show the world what your gender is is your gender expression, and it shows in the clothes you wear and the way you act. You don’t have to show me your penis to prove you’re a man, I can usually tell by how you act.

Language Matters

I’ve said before that humans are basically horny great apes, and I meant it. We are hominids, and we are perverts; we also have very large brains and have developed complex language! We use our language to communicate to one another about our lives, our innermost selves, and other deeply important things. Philosophy, religion, and complex social structures are all possible because of our brains and our language. That’s why the words we use to describe ourselves are vital, and why labels are important. We’re not “just” two binary genders, but rather a complex spectrum of gender stuff made even more complex through cultural forces and learned behaviors and attitudes, and all of those points in the gender spectrum have words to describe them.

Sissies

When we call ourselves a woman, or a man, or a sissy (or other words that may have been used as slurs by dominant cultural groups, in an attempt to reclaim them), we are declaring something about our innermost selves. Those words may or may not have anything to do with our anatomy. After all, a woman who has had a hysterectomy is still a woman. A man may have had breast reduction surgery to deal with gynacomastia. They are who and what they say they are, and, to be clear, mis-gendering someone is a harsh and cruel way to dehumanize anyone, and deny their sense of self.

Sissies and Gender

Join the LIVE Whore School discussion at 11 pm on November 30, 2025, as I unpack even more information about sissies and gender for you. Let’s get deep on why someone may choose to identify as a sissy, and what that may (or may not) mean about their gender! Learn why you can’t assume someone’s gender by how they look, and get some tips about how to respectfully ask about pronouns and correct yourself when you inevitably mess up. Sissies and gender get real complex real fast, so, don’t beat yourself up about being confused! Oh, and yeah, we’ll talk about the “sissy to trans pipeline”, too.

What’s your gender? What pronouns do you use, and do you think of yourself as a sissy? Leave me a comment here, and let me know your thoughts as we jump right into a hot button topic and complex issue on Whore School.
